Good novel. Germans in Africa was an incredible section of a book, along with the play with lesbians. Other parts were lackluster for me.

So did Quentin really love not his sister's body?

I feel like he may have been pretending to pretend he was physically attracted to her in order to subconsciously justify his unhealthy obsession (which in turn, he justified by "pretending" he wanted to give her the dick)

I feel like he would have been all over that bitch if he wasn't spaghetti king of the century.

Heya, /lit/. I'm about to start reading ``The Sound and the Fury'' by William Faulkner for the second time (the first was a year ago, and I got the general plot -- now I'm reading it for details).

Wanted to know if you guys have anything to say about the book. Opinions, resources, anything goes; personally I loved it, though a lot flew over my head and the second section (Quentin's section) confused the fuck outta me.

what are /lit/'s thoughts on this. I just finished it. I found it was very moving, and incredibly sad. I also really liked the family dynamic portrayed. But none of that matches its creativity.

I bought The Sound And The Fury today, i'm 20 pages in and, so far, it's a pile of shit.

Should I keep reading? or does it simply become a mountain of shit?

Let's get some favorite quotes up in this piece.

>One day you'd think misfortune would get tired, but then time is your misfortune Father said. A gull on an invisible wire attached through space dragged. You carry the symbol of your frustration into eternity. Then the wings are bigger Father said only who can play a harp.

>If it could just be a hell beyond that: the clean flame the two of us more than dead. Then you will have only me then only me then the two of us amid the pointing and the horror beyond the clean flame... Only you and me then amid the pointing and the horror walled by the clean flame.

>dont cry poor Quentin
>but I couldnt stop she held my head against her damp hard breast I could her heart going firm and slow not not hammering and the water gurgling among the willows in the dark and waves of honeysuckle coming up the air my arm and shoulder were twisted under me
