What is his problem with not being able to actually die?

Television, film, and the internet separate us from the real even as they seek to reproduce it more fully or faithfully: "The hyperreality of communication and of meaning. More real than real, that is how the real is abolished" ("The Implosion of Meaning in the Media" 81).
What did he mean by this?

Reminder that Baudrillard's was notably absent on the 1977 petition against age of consent laws.

Whether that's based or cringe is an entirely different matter (its obvious which it is though)
