Genders are a pain in the ass, and the most efficient cope I've found so far is to just learn a few thousand (2-3) words along with their gender, and from there you can kind of feel the gender of words because there are actually a lot of different (unsaid) groups. Like for example, certain time-types are always certain genders, certain types of food, certain types of ideas, words with certain endings, etc.
Yeah, it makes the language more colorful and its the duty of learners to accommodate the culture they are learning from but holy shit why can't Germans just let go of this AIDS, pic related

Well, it is true that England and France have more shared history and cultural exchange, but English and German are both Germanic languages so there is some shared vocabulary there too. But we don't have any data on hand so we can't say who is right quantitatively, although my gut feeling says its you.
>2
My teachers just gave me a handful of word-order types and made me memorize them, and it was smooth sailing from there. Again, once you memorize the rules and hear/read/write a few thousand sentences the word order just feels right, and it goes back into my original point of just having to learn the damn rules. But yeah, that learning process did have to happen and it was work.

...I hate declensions, pic related. No counterargument, other than the justlearntheruleslol argument.

How does one learn to write poetry, more specifically, sonnets? Poets seem to just emerge with the ability, are there exercises to practice composition of poems? Book on how to compose perhaps?

the only reason you even consider the best books to be in English is that you've been brainwashed by your imperialist anglo universities. This, and also because you are uncultured. If you were even remotely familiar with the French novel of the 19th century, with the works of Celine, you would be ashamed to make such a statement.
As to translations being superior, that's just plain retarded. You can never translate poetry - at most you can adapt it. Also, English translations from romance languages suck ass.
Bait better next time, loser.

It's not like this is exclusive to art and literature. The quality of everything is being destroyed intentionally. Why is it that every list of great movies, books, etc, are always things that came out 30+ years ago? Think of your favorite movies, have any of them come out in the past 10 years? Has the ability to produce quality art been lost somehow? If we are so much more materially capable these days in the way of technology and education why is it that 'good' things just aren't made anymore? It just doesn't make sense unless you entertain the idea that it's being done on purpose, and then you end up going down *that* rabbithole. You knew this was going to happen though. We all did. So don't act surprised.

I believe waking life is just another dream and one day I could possibly become lucid. Also I think the people in the Gifted and Talented Education program installed a mental virus that keeps me confined in a loop of horrible habits.

Do /lit/ women actually exist? Where the fuck do I find them, I've tried practicing continence but it's only increased my sex drive.

I don't know a single woman who reads or watches Shakespeare casually or has read any of the major authors of the enlightenment period onwards or otherwise. hell, I know few males of that description, has dysgenics since the industrial revolution already manifested itself so abjectly in the white gene pool?

Current favorite: William Baylebridge

Something I've been working on:

I have seen vast pleasures,
And I have known the glory of pain.

I have sundered mountains in the wake of my steps;
I have swallowed pantheons with every stifled inhale.
When the time comes to adjourn
I will go without regret.

I will abandon this mortal shell,
And take my rightful place among the Kosmos.
I will question, and be questioned;
I will answer, and be answered.

I will bear the weight of Entropy upon my back.
My will shall last eternally.

\

All these and more are at the forefront of the mind;

All these and more are the forefront of the soul;

Questioning that which has remained true throughout time

In the hitherto black pursuit to form a whole

Picture of shifting Kosmos, that Gods don't allow-

For what isMystery, if Men discover how—

Dude, I feel ya'. I see you're in a dark place, I want you to know that I went through similar shit and I'm still on my way to a place where I actually feel good about myself.
When I read this rant all I want to do is help, first off all fren'. You need to quit the drugs, it sounds like you regularly smoke weed. It might be a good temporary escape from stress and responsibility, but it makes everything worse, your anxiety, your sleep, your depression, etc.
Second stop the social isolation. I did the exact same thing, never answer phone or text and avoiding people. Reason I did this is because I was ashamed of who I was, and social interactions sometimes reflected the ugliness of myself back to me, also I wasn't acting honestly, I pretended to feel alright.
I still avoid some friends, but I'm socializing from time to time and have a minimum wage job at an Italian food place.

Anyway, dude stop running from your problems or you'll crash and burn. I crashed, I had a psychosis (twice actually because the first one gave me another reason to be depressed). I had to move back in with my mom and I had to quit my study which I was on for 4 years.
Life is rough, anyway peace brother. I hope this message gives you the slightest bit of hope and reminds you that you're not alone.

Lets try to have a philosophical discussion. Something like dialectics.

Some people say that knowledge through hard work is more important than wisdom itself. I disagree. What's good out of knowing something? I know nothing! I rely my life only on insights, for they matter the most and they tell the truth. Though some other people say that endurance is more important than truth. I know that nietzsche said "the philsophers who think about the meaning are going not the way they're supposed to", but what is meaning itself? Is life really like a road? To get back to the start: how can you rely on information you were given? Reason? Words are tricky, you can talk all kinds of things that might sound profound and interesting, and words have power, because you can get an idea and do something in life differntly, like take action to finally conquer the world afterall! But why do we need to take action at all? All wise men say that live life with effortless action. Well, wise men can live like that, I think I can't live like that, so what's good for me out of their so called wisdom? Obviously, what's good out of wisdom? Only that, that wisdom calms you down. Just as words do too. Socrates always asked, what was the meaning of the conversation he was in... Tricky stuff, dont you say? Isn't this philosophical labyrinth? Or am I just looking at philosophy the wrong way, they way which is without hard work at all?
