it's an interesting idea, and sounds similar to what i've read of carl jung's work. but like most of the most popular ideas that are attached to the word 'psychology', it's impossible to test it's scientific validity (thus guaranteeing it immortality in the halls of literary/art academia)

so guess what im trying to say is, argue either side of this all you like (and you should, because it's important). just don't look for evidence from psychology to back your view, because it doesnt exist yet.

tl;dr this is a philosophical argument not a psychological one
