Writing detailed reviews (that I keep to myself) about books I read genuinely changed the way I see books in a very positive way
This post`s only purpose is to say that if you thinking about writing reviews about the books you read, I think you should do it

I am 27 never was so happy as i am now. I excercise every day and my body changes for the bettter, also no back pain even tho i felt it in the past. I have pretty good job, income i can use for whatever i want, i bought kindle and i am still excited about possibility of reading whatever i want and having it all in my backpocket, still i live very frugally and i have fuck you savings, so if i get laid off i dont give a fuck. I get recognized for my achievement and it made me much less nervous than i was, i am still autist tired of smalltalk, but my communication skills are much better, people understand what i want to communicate and i can converse on many topics. I still don't have gf and almost no friends but i am no longer sad and i don't lose sleep over that like some r9k incel. With age you get this peace of mind, hard for me to explain this. Certainly when i was NEET i had much more free time for reading/writing, but i was constantly broke and my free time was consumed by videogames or anime, after years of introspection i realized its not worth it and now i spend all my time on literary interest.
For me worst part of getting old, is you are not so excited about your achievements, they matter if you are young, but now i often realized many people already achieved that thing before me so whatever. I am just happy i dont think about killing myself every day.

Anyone here actually prefer translations over originals? I borrowed translation of Wuthering Heights, few chapters in i got my Kindle and then downloaded original Wuthering Heights and started reading it. I am fluent in reading english, i understand 98% of books i get my hands on. Yet after reading maybe a chapter i came back to reading translation. I am not sure why, but it's much comfier for me to read in my native language, emotions in text, cruelty of this novel seems more immediate to me. Only thing i felt was wrong at the start, was use of dialect in some of the characters. Translator made use of mountain people dialect of my country to translate Joseph dialogues, and when it felt weird at the beginning - english people speaking carpathian dialect, but what he wrote is pretty funny actually, and guy obviously spend some time figuring it out.
Good translator really can make book better in my opinion.
Pic unrelated

I love you guys, i love /lit/. No one reads now, we live in such times... Yet there exists community to unite people who actually read, who help each other to improve, or just to feel less alone. No matter what you read, you can create your own thread, write your opinion or question there and there will be always someone to discuss and confront your opinion or to recommend where to find more info about what you like. I will never forget all the people who helped on /lit/ during my 6 years here, all the recommendation i got for great books with potential to change my life, all the help i got in writing critique threads - anonymous people, i never even met, who spend their free time to help me, tears of joy come to my eyes when i think about all you wonderful people.
And if some of you here feel miserable like i often felt in early 20s: remember, often there are simple ways to improve your mood. Even if you are neet, you probably have phone, there are so many good apps for workout: pushups, yoga, you don't even need to leave your house. "In healthy body healthy spirit", i assure you it will make you feel better, and it will make you more engaged in reading and writing. There is no excuse to feel miserable all the time, unless you really are mentally sick, well try at least.

Eat more fiber. It should only take 5-10 seconds to empty your bowels, not enough time to read anything.
