Can I submit shit that's already been sent to other magazines?

I used to put shit on magazine websites and the websites would put it up for everyone to read but I only got one thing actually published in a physical magazine.

Back in the day Beat writers were pretty much the anti-hipsters.

Hunter S. Thompson is one of the few that doesn't bore me, though. I find Kerouac to be pretty dry and Thomas Wolfe is just a snoozefest. Naked Lunch is a pretty good book, though. Especially if you dig old-school "weird" stuff.
