Minimalist covers usually suck but it actually works for this story.

The Road is the best book I have ever read, hands down.
It has such a developed world yet the author opts to focus on the human interaction. The very strong description of the constant cold is perfectly contrasted with warm moments. The emotions are so strong and even looking at the book cover gives me strong emotions. It is such a good book. The movie is unable to do it justice despite following the text very well.

A little over a decade ago I had an English teacher that changed our curriculum so that we had to read this garbage instead of "outdated Shakespeare"
