Tao Lin has the "childish gall" to investigate heretofore unheard of depths of the human navel. He can fuck off.

I hate to fall to the ad hominem, but you sound enormously obese, dorsally-irritated, and just generally alone.

This is going to sound schmaltzy but it has made me a more empathetic person.

Wow, your Catholic school was North Korea-tier. Mine was staffed by a bunch of half-assed, working-class Catholics so religion classes weren't bad at all, in fact they were kind of interesting. We learned about Judaism and Islam too, and I'm fairly certain that isn't exactly par for course in most Catholic school religion classes. The only time teachers ever got strict was when some militant, edgy atheist would raise hell for no good reason. And even then, they'd just tell them to quiet down so they could just get through the lecture. You sound like you've still got a little of that edginess in you.

Catholic schools are mostly shit, unless you're going to a particularly elite/expensive one. Mine didn't even offer languages, whereas the vastly superior middle school I transferred to in 8th grade had started languages a year before.
