My general experience has been that reading makes you smart as shit

When I got to the early point where it describes the incredibly discreet smoking habits of the tennis player (using a one-hitter, in what sounded like infrequent puffs in a secluded part of the tennis academy campus), it struck me because that seemed to describe my own smoking habits to a fucking tee. At which point, I went and purchased weed for the first time in a couple years (had stopped because, until recently, I didn't have that sort of spending money lying around), dug the one-hitter & dug-out out from storage, and picked up a vial of Rhoto eye-drops. Being about a tenth of the way in, I look forward to finding out from the book (and/or experiences to come) whether or not I should have left the habit in dormancy.

Although I own a French press, a moka pot, an espresso machine, and an MSR mug-mate, I usually just make it with my stadard-issue 'merican drip brewer. Not a single fuck given. I think this might be reactionary in some respect to the way that hipsters nowadays turn their noses at those machines, even though the coffee made by slow drip brewing is not worse than by the other methods, just different.

I am 27, Americunt, living with parents although I'm working on that*. I've had girlfriends and I can fake being social & extroverted well enough, but I have a lot of social fear that keeps me from approaching women at cafes, in supermarkets, and whatnot, and so for this reason I don't currently have gf. Also, I guess I have self-esteem issues stemming from the living-with-parents/debt thing. I expect to have a gf eventually, since I do have decent body/looks & am not a social dimwit. At the moment, I teach math at the local CC. I read for pleasure, a lot of classical literature as well as classics.

* Basically, my life spiraled outta control after college, as I was spending outrageously on alcohol with credit cards, and so now although I'm employed I am in debt with rather high interest rates. As soon as I pay off one or two, I'll look to get my own place.

Part-time math teacher at local CC & web developer.

Career path? Don't know, really; I'm trying to figure that part out. Apparently, people take you less & less seriously the longer you're out of college and don't have a good, solid, consistent answer to the question, "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"

Math teacher at local community college and web developer.

Would like to be able to put those two professions in the opposite order nondisingenuously, but I've been too lazy to seek out prospective web design clients.
