I found this to be an extremely prescient book about the consequences of sexual objectification in modern times. Tolstoy's solution of abstinence was pretty silly and overbearing but the actual narrative is engrossing. The rage of the narrator is exactly what I see in many young men today who are disgusted by the vanity and public display of sexuality from women.
