In all seriousness though, nihilism is depressing and knowledge and idealism are better forms of cope and Nietzsche is just contrarian for the sake of it. He did it at the right time for sure.

I was recently diagnosed with autism as an adult in my mid 20's. Early in my life I went through an acute obsession with Nietzsche, especially his "most personal book" the Gay Science. If the speculation that Fred was on the spectrum are true, it would explain my intense attraction to something which reflected my own cognitive style.

Are there other great works of literature written by autistic authors, confirmed or not? Google has nothing to offer but trashy sci-fi. I'm pulling for Thomas Mann on team sperg cuz the Magic Mountain is GOAT but the more I think about it the more I think all these maniacs are spectrum'd out, so I don't trust my evaluations at this point. Is it even worthwhile to differentiate forms of obsession?
