This thread feeks of samefag. I finally caved in last week and decided to go through the series, I'm in the middle of a dance with dragons right now, and It's a really frustrating book. Fatass here seems to love introducing new, pointless characters for the lulz while extending arcs that should have been wrapped up by the fifth book. The three first books were pretty much the highlight of the series, but it seems he went senile while writing a feast for crows. I never thought I'd get tired of tyrion until adwd, where it seems fatass didn't know what to do with him. At least I will have some cooldown time of a few decades until the next book comes out, or until the fat man dies.
As for the show, it's not better in any way. They sneak in completely pointless characters, change their names, sprinkle porn scenes out of nowhere and, even though the budget has risen over the years, the explosions in blackwater were about the most epic thing shown.
