Doesn't he fancy himself as a communist and/or feminist? As long as the positive labels, the "digital pheromones" are emitted by a bugman, he is accepted by other bugmen. Nothing else is of much consequence - any drama that might arise (cancelling because he said a no-no word, for example) is just skirmishes for a position in the bugman hierarchy. They can and will grub up whatever he shits, because he is a member of the hive.
I am exaggerating due to my repulsion, but try visiting Reddit and see it through this framework. It is so dreadfully, pathetically inhumane
