I started out my writing career on an Adler manual typewriter and I have no romantic illusions about it - I hated the fucking thing. Additionally, I write poetry more than prose and setting the tabs and such like was about as much fun as dick cancer. Word processors changed my life. I travel a lot and being able to carry a superior version of my old typewriter in something as small as a netbook is amazing.

Downside of PC/Laptop: Pr0n, and back in the day, nobody used to sit in a cafe with a typewriter desperately hoping it makes them look edgy and intellectual
