I've always liked Gravity's Rainbow's original cover.

I really enjoyed TCL49 so I'm hoping I'll like this one too.

So, does this suck or not? Why?

I'm not necessarily a great reader, but I'm curious about this. I enjoyed "Inherent Vice" and wanted to read this but I don't know if I'd be able to handle that much.
Is it worth reading? Is it worth the 750 page investment?

This should be made into a video game, not a movie. In the right hands, I think it could be pulled off and be just as effective as the novel. I don't think a two hour movie could, though. Thoughts?

I've seen Gravity's Rainbow mentioned many times on this board, but, sadly, there is absolutely no commentary whatsoever. I am in the category of those who think it's without a doubt the most accomplished and important American novel of the 20th century, so I'm a little biased, but I want to you know what others think about it. Do you think, like I do, it will hold up and will stand the test of time, or will it be a stylish 1970s oddity that will be forgotten because people confused complexity with difficulty and absurdity with frivolity?
