Okay so it's been decided that video games aren't art, but they are created through a combination of artistic creations (visuals, music and could be to an extent, the plot).

Now here comes a better subject, can video games be as good art as a painting or literature is if it sacrifices much of what makes it a video game and instead focuses on what makes it art?

So are all video games art? What about all literature. Is a 40k novel art?
Someone argued that all art is political.
If video games are art, and thus political, then what about a video game like pong? what would the politics in such a game be?

What exactly constitutes art. Why would video games not be considered art but literature be considered art?
What about anime?
Why would video games be considered art, but anime not. And here, why would anime be considered art (if considered art) but western cartoons wouldn't?
