the mainstream is obsessed with power and heirarchy right now. on the left it is the idpol social engineering on the right it is the chad/virgin- i mean master/slave dialectic. what does /lit/ think? what are some good books on navigating this subject? (other than foucault or might is right.)

how do I stop conceiving everything in terms of hierarchies? my life has been reduced to sizing people up and engaging an endless series of micro competitions. this is not the way it should be.

So is it normal for a 56 year old Academic to not know what the book Kapital is? I mean not read it but just knowing about it since it's Karl MArx's most famous and important treatise
