Writing 4.4 million words isn't the biggest achievement when the majority of it is filler and the only consistently interesting books are the Sanderson ones.

It ends with everything just being a timeloop that will repeat over and over with only small variations

Should I read this series? I know nothing about this except that it is really long, is it another reddit fantasy saga or is it actually good?

Is it any good? I read the First book, nothing special but overall I enjoyed it, even though they sold me as a sort of masterpiece. It's very long, should I keep because It gets Better or it's Just another overrated product worshipped by normies?

So I finally got around to start reading this, because of the hype of the series. It's good so far, love the lore and world building the mythology stuff. Writing is nothing to write home about

Anyone heard of this little known series? I guess Amazon picked it up for a TV show. I haven't gotten all the way through book one but it seems like a pretty good lord of the rings knockoff so far.

Does pic related ever get good? The prologue was nice but now I'm on page 200 and all they do is run away. Is the entire series like this?

What am I in for?

I'm about 200 pages in the first volume and I gotta ask: does it get any better or will it stay this underwhelming?

I ask because there are 14 goddamn books, each of them around 700 pages, and I'm already struggling with Jordan's style. It's not as simplistic and dreadful as Brandon Sanderson's, but it's a far cry from what I was expecting. The cliches are abundant and the prose is dull and insipid. It's a drag.

Ok that it's muh genre fiction, but Christ. I had heard great things about this series.

Is it worth it?

My friend bought me pic related for my birthday because he thought I'd like it, but just reading the prologue I'm already dreading reading it. It seems like the most generic and boring fantasy I've ever seen. Is it really worth reading 700+ painful pages just to avoid an awkward conversation? Should I just read a wikipedia summary and pretend I actually read it? What do /lit/?

/lit/ is mostly full of a bunch of non-fiction/ really old classic novel nerds so they don't really read much fantasy. wheel of time series is pretty good imo
