Also, FUCK Byron. Byron is the original overrated twat. His poetry isn't THAT good, he just lived such a dramatic and highly publicized lifestyle that everyone thought it was.

I think Wolfe has a powerful case for it. I certainly prefer him to a lot of modern writers. I fucking prefer him to Franzen and DeLillio, definitely.

Book of the New Sun was magnificent. I'm tempted to read Long Sun and Short Sun, but at the same time I'd kind of like to sniff around Wolfe's other universes.

In particular, how is Peace? I don't hear about it often, but when I do it's usually being praised.
