Should I absolutely get a physical copy of this book or am I safe just to read it digitally? Someone told me they used multiple bookmarks in this book and it made me wonder if having a physical copy is essential. However, I read all of my books digitally and greatly prefer that method of reading.

Look at this asshat. Claiming Infinite Jest requires a fork lift to hold, using a two-inch thick book as a footstool. Every word of his reeks of irony. Unable to stomach greatness, he attacks quality with parody. That he won't stand for Infinite Jest he makes loud, but what he does stand for he stays quiet. Perhaps he stands for nothing. Is he not sick? Is he not infected from the epidemic plaguing America, a disease that tells him he doesn't have to believe in anything, he doesn't have to improve himself, all he has to do is rebel against Virtue, Progress, Hope by watching television six hours a day?
He is the yawn, the rolled eyes, the cool smile, the nudged ribs, the parody of gifted ironists, the "How banal," the totality of risks DFW predicted he'll face.

It has a lot to say about modern entertainment and escapism, most notably in the form of the affidavit which is the ultimate entertainment, one that you can’t stop consuming, and most of the chapters deal with the characters’ relations with entertainment (drugs, tennis, interpersonal relationships). It’s maximalistic style is perfect for what it’s trying to convey, how an influx of media and entertainment consumption makes us more accustomed to taking in larger amounts of information at once
