I don't care if I'm acting like a "brawd," and I don't mind being materialistic or capitalist in the slightest. I've always read and collected books, long before I even knew what anyone meant by "intellectual." And the percentage of books on pdf is still pathetically low. People on the internet have this invincible delusion that it holds the totality of human knowledge now, which is horseshit. I own dozens of books that are not on the net, and any old library has thousands. Project Gutenberg and archive.org are great ongoing projects, but they're just drops in the ocean. E-books are fine for folks reading on the go, but I don't need them at home.

I like old children's books (Victorian/Edwardian) but I have other stuff too.

Actually though, I have a few glass-door cases now and I don't overload those (and tend to put antiques or more fragile books there). I put little interesting things in front-toys, models, rocks-and a few books cover out for display. It makes a friendly effect, I think. Here's the top half of a case with doors open...
