I'm reading journey to the end of the night at I'm at the part where Bardamu is taking care of a woman having a miscarriage on the same night a cancer patient is dying (it's right after Bebert has died). But he puts it to the woman's family if they want to bring her to the hospital and some are unsure because of "how it will look" and I have no idea what this means. Why would it be bad to bring a woman having a miscarriage to the hospital? It's on page 260 of pic related edition

never read anything like it. he's so angry and bitter and negative. on the one hand, his unique style of writing has me completely engrossed and there are passages which are beautifully written, on the other hand the negativity is relentless and it can be a bit much at times.

overall really enjoying it. what does /lit/ think of céline?
