So I started reading more a while ago and looked up a list of funny books, saw Catch - 22 on a list, ordered it, read most of it, and didn't get what I thought I was going to get out of it.

Anyways, I thought I'd ask around here to see if anyone's got any good recommendations. I'm not afraid of bigoted humor either.

Also, just to pay my respects and ask for another recommendation, I remember watching an interview of the late and great Norm Macdonald saying that he loved reading "bleak Russian novels", so if you have any good recommendations on books of that sort that'd be much appreciated too.

I read this didn't think it was funny.

What a stupid book. Really cemented my distaste for Hemingway. He's a well-off guy wanting to LARP as a common man.
Discard Hemingway, read
