It seems it's profitable. For instance the same happens with YouTubers with millions of subscribers and who, according to their agents, must "diversify" themselves. In this diversification process, publishing a book is an obvious milestone that might not require much effort to accomplish. With a ghostwriter's help and their millions of fans to back them up, the book needs not to be any good; it's a unfailable task. I think the same happens with politicians, even for those w/o a long political career to back them up; it's not their political expertise but the showbiz image they're selling to both the media and their constituents that matters. Just like attending brief and pointless interviews, debates, etc., publishing a book is a politician's way to diversify himself.

I don't remember the paradox but it boils down to movements becoming obsolete once they reach goal and how they need to move their goal post to justify their existence. For example, feminism is a prime example of this; once women were given the right to vote and any other rights men have, its goals expanded. This is the same for the shitty and subversive BLM movement. Black matters only when a black felon is killed by a white policeman and there's a chance for civil unrest. Give me a fucking break. Black lives will matter when they start to matter to black people, when Hispanic lives matter, Asian lives matter, White lives matter, and all the other shit matter.
I never thought not cared much about race but this whole fucking ordeal has tainted me forever. I'll continue to treat people as individuals but all these dancing, self-identifying, and virtual signalling buffons get nothing from me.
