It's obvious the author writes about whatever he/she last read about in class (or wikipedia) and generally only has a shallow understand of the philosophers featured. However, the author legit wants to introduce something of the philosophy of thinkers he/she deals with. So to compare it with Dead Philosophers in Heaven - the punchlines are often weaker, but commonly more directly related to the actual philosophy.

I think this comics saving grace compared to garbage like 8bit is that it's never gone far enough to actively flaunt it's ignorance on any one topic.
