Just finished this. I was feeling like the last 400 or so pages were too episodic. But I guess Mann was going for a more fragmented narration, and in retrospective it’s in line with the ideas of time that were told throughout the book. It’s a very original, very smart book, with some irony here and there.

What are your thoughts? I specially felt for Joachim
