What are your most depressing and well thought out realizations about life that you read in a book? something that made so much sense to you when you read it?
HARD MODE: nothing that basically amounts to "nothing matters" unless it's really cleverly worded

For me it was:
>because we are creatures of discontent, life is little blips of happiness, somewhat longer moments of being content, and the rest is all wanting something out of reach or that only satisfies for one of the aforementioned moments. For this reason, it is selfish to bring other people into the world and subject them to the same reality, if only for a blip of happiness or contentment for ourselves. However, to not have children is to have one less major thing to have hope for in your life. Something that will still give your purpose in your old age.
