Before present day hell, there was bipartisan agreement that Scalia was the best conservative judge. Historically they tend to be among the less shitty US politicians because of their lifetime appointments and most are genuine law nerds (thus the cute friendship between RBG and Scalia).

I personally think Originalism is a dumb take but Scalia applied it cleverly and consistently and I can at least respect that, even if he called me a bearded weirdo.

Judge Amy mostly annoys me because she seems to have less knowledge about the law than Judge Judy but after Gorsuch it seems the Republicans don't want to run the risk of having anyone who can actually think for the themselves on the Court.
