How do you get any writing done in the summer heat? It feels like my brain has turned to goo. Can't focus, everything feels overwhelming. Just fucking kill me.

do writers have friends? or do they write all the time?

When these threads started, I imagined something like this:

>Anons share their finished stories

What is actually happening:

>Anon tries to pick a fight when asked questions about writing
>Anon makes fun of other people's efforts to write
>Crit Anon is happy to get a few (you)s and feels important
>Anons seriously trying to write all leave

Editing is fun, but proofreading is the real grind. You have to reread the text you've already read many times, nothing's wrong, you skim over the lines, one by one, but the instant you start zoning out and lose focus, a mistake almost slips by. You have to keep sharp all the time while the screen burns your eyes and your brain melts, an hour after another. Oh god why do I even bother

if I have the day off from work and am not being badgered by a family member, I'll typically wake up in the early morning, read a bit until I fall back asleep, wake up late morning, do the same, until I get hungry enough to leave the bed in the early afternoon.
Fuck me, I haven't been able to do that in several weeks now and I miss it so got damn much

I ordered a lot of books... again.
