Because lying to people online isn't torture. I've read like half a book in the past 10 years. I just use google to find some sources to season whatever arguments I'm trying to make. You only need to skim an argument to find its flaws, and there's no reason to consider deeply inhaling somebody else's bullshit when you can just make your own at that point and start a good old fashioned shit-throwing fight.

Continuing, truth now isn't real. It's hard to prove truth can even be understood in this day and age. Because to even posit that there is an absolute truth requires some aspect of faith. To previous societies it was Jesus, and to others it was Apollo, who cares. They had a different understanding of what was ever present and absolute.
What about empiricism? It is not "absolutely true" that one tree is one tree?
