I often see writers/thinkers accuse one another of arguing in "bad faith". Like how Sartre accused reactionaries of acting in bad faith.
But i always wonder whether this isnt hypocritical, as the ideal argument of "good faith" is something like a Platonic ideal that can never truly exist, and complaining about it is like complaining that we cant really draw a perfect circle, only approximations of it.
So what really is good faith vs bad faith, and does it really matter?

If there is no permanent soul and buddhism doesnt believe in transmigration of the soul, then what is it that is reborn?
