Here's the thing that most right wingers and I'm guessing the author of this book also don't understand.

Intelligence is not longer as strong a predictor of income as it once was. Sure there are still smart people doing high paying specialist work but more and more in the west it is becoming the case where high intelligence is no longer a barrier to wealth. More so than anything these days it is actually emotional intelligence and the ability to network (bullshitting and nepotism in other words) that determine your earning potential.

Because when it comes to discussing differences in intelligence there is always the not so subtle implication that intelligent people are more deserving of wealth and power, when in practice this is not necessarily the case. In many places it is even the case that intellectual types are treated with suspicion, looked down on or outright exploited by people who while not as smart as them, occupy a position of power and can force an unfair exchange. However because the myth and the belief that smarter people deserve more exists it poisons the discussion of differences in intelligence.

Abuse "The Look." just go to a library or a coffee shop, bring only a book or a low-end laptop. People do this because of the "The Look" of others upon you; you will be shamed into studying or reading because it is inappropriate socially to play video games in these environments.
