You all know the backrooms, right? Take them as an example. Imagine someone wandering through those rooms for days and maybe even weeks. Boredom and repetitiveness is key of the essence when living through that experience.
How to translate this into writing properly?

Nothing really. I've been a fan of the vlogbrothers for years, not too long ago they were small as hell and nobody gave a crap about them but even then they were enthusiastic and insightful. They do a helluva lot of charity work and have spawned one of the few non-toxic communities on the internet. I hold there content up there with homestarrunner, not in quality, but in that good people are involved in what they produce and you can tell. As for his writing, I liked looking for alaska when I was a sophomore in high school. That's all I've read, TFIOS seemed to try too hard. What I did read wasn't bad. It made me want to read a lot more by other people and it gave me some healthy perspective when it came to girls in high school. /lit/ doesn't know shit about him to be completely honest. I think his writing is mediocre but he's not churning out mindless horse shit.
