I'm learning about Christianity at the moment because it's simply the most accessible world religion to learn about for a westerner. I want to move onto other religions at some point, mostly ancient ones so I don't get bogged down, which rules out Islam.

What do you guys think of doing it roughly geographically? It's so I've got a footing in related religions when moving onto a new one. Christianity/Judaism naturally would lead to Mesopotamian mythology, becuase of the influence on the Old Testament stories. From there I'm thinking Zoroastrianism could be a bridge between Mesopotamian and Indian religion so I could go onto Hinduism. Does that sound like a good plan for anyone who's attempting something similar?
