Well that was a letdown. This book would have been a decent short story but to go on for 400 pages with no character development or plot made reading a chore. Brett has OK prose, but it was worst book I've read in a while. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to take away from it other than:
- rich + pretty != kind + happy
- greed is bad
- the 80s sure weren't as good as they seemed
- reading about gruesome murders over and over gets boring
Thoughts?
