I like Rómulo Gallego's and Miguel Otero Silva's work. Particularly Canaima and Casas Muertas. Their works are highly influenced by living in Venezuela during the early XX century. The fight between "civilization" and "savagery", the hardships of rural life and the beauty of the land are common themes. It's really interesting (at least to me.)

It was really hard to find a decent .epub version of their books in Spanish, so it's likely they can't be found in English except physical. They're not even listed in libgen, which is surprising.
