I'm currently taking a class on Late Antiquity this quarter, and for our papers we are allowed to choose which one we wanted to do first.

One option was to write a pseudo-historical document, could be a report from a legion commander to Rome, could be a Visigothic tale of conquest, whatever. Basically it was a creative writing assignment, so obviously I went right for that one.

I chose to write a fake account of a Christian martyrdom. I'm not much of a writer, but I wanted to see what /lit/ thought of it.

Read the New Testament it describes the Christian God (Jesus Christ).

If you want to read about an Insane and Evil God read the Old Testament or the Quran.

Nietzsche was right about Eternal Return. Assume this is the first iteration of your life (to ignore problems of determinism).

How would this change your life choices? Your literary life-style?

Was Nietzsche trying to "free us" and "lighten" our lives with this idea or chain us down and "burden" us with responsibility and seriousness???
