Does anyone have tips on reaching a hypnogagic state? I naturally go into hypnogagic hallucinations almost every time I sleep or wake up, but I'd like to be able to control them a bit better. For example, once I had turned off my alarm when I was younger to wake for school, and accidentally fell asleep. About 5 minutes later, I hallucinated that there were bed bugs crawling all over me and gaining in size as they sucked my blood, eventually causing sort of acute pain where I had hallucinated them to be, moments before waking up in time to get ready. I sort of hallucinate half dream states while falling asleep too, but I'm not completely conscious as it happens.

Hey anons. I used to have pretty severe DP/DR, mostly from DXM/weed abuse but I think that the drug abuse also triggered some trauma from my childhood. Basically, for about 6 months to a year in ~10th grade, I was completely nihilistic and was to the point where I didn't even have a sense of self, and did whatever I wanted because it was my 'future self' who would have to deal with the consequences, and not 'me'. This caused me to be kicked out of school about 4-5 times, get arrested and put in a mental hospital for a week, and fuck up a lot of relationships. It may also be intermixed/a subset of C-PTSD from being abused in my childhood.
While the worst of it is gone for the most part, I still get fairly dissociated sometimes, and sort of feel like I'm not myself. It's almost like I start seeing everything around me in "high definition" as a sort of outside observer to my surroundings. This could be genuine DP/DR, but I also suspect it may be simply me tricking myself into thinking I'm dissociating at times, and so I end up dissociating. I no longer do drugs outside of alcohol, which I've slowed greatly and rarely drink anymore.
So, is there any literature that could help me with this? Anything would be good, whether it's a psychiatric workbook or a philosophy text, or even a novel dealing with it.

What is the proper way to learn a language?
I picked up this book "German made simple" and am on chapter 5. I listen to a lot of German music (mostly marches and folk songs like Wo Allen Strassen Enden) and will start watching German movies, and while I am starting to understand certain words and phrases and how to construct plural words and use articles and such things, I feel like actually putting them together is very difficult (i.e what the fuck are subjects and why/when do they go behind the verb?). Should I not expect to understand grammar for awhile, or is it important to get it down good at the beginning? Will I have to relearn English grammar to do this?

What are some good books to get started with/work up to regarding military or political strategy and tactics? What about books concerning propaganda? It's a subject I'm very interested in but it seems not many people talk about it. Anything from any time period is welcome.

How do you go about 'formalizing' your values? What I mean is, figuring out what your values are and trying to put into words why you believe certain things; the reasoning behind them, commonalities between them, etc. Are there any books I could read that discuss this also?
