I don't hate him at all, I just think he's representative of a dead strand of liberalism. He is still the kind of "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" Cold War liberal in a world where every single power center in society has moved on and use a different ideology to justify capitalism.

Global capitalism has zero use for 19th century liberal justifications for its existence, its justification is now solely resting on its ability to produce mountains of consumer goods and give a hip urban elite the ability to buy cheap take out food and travel the world inexpensively, it doesn't need suit-wearing academics to tell the masses that the individual not being able to create a new business is tyrannical any longer because we already live under a monopolistic regime where huge international corporations produce everything. Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations is dead.

What do you mean it's irrefutable though, are you implying it's simply logical?

There's nothing "logical" about not believing life has intrinsic value. That's just simply a sentiment.
