His books look like really long potboilers, and they're not even canonized by Bloom. Is reading, say, Monte Cristo or Three Musketeers worth it at all?

Dumas pere who the film referred to was a quadroon and did look a little bit black, though not that much
Though I’d say he is perhaps one of the most aggressively french looking people I’ve seen, I can almost hear him grumblingly ordering wine
