Is anyone here able to maintain romantic feelings for someone who obviously doesn't engage in regular critical thought? I'm not saying they have to be already versed in critical theory or phenomenology or shit like that, just they should at least be willing and eventually wanting to engage in such topics of thought. I can handle someone not desiring it if I'm just going to be casual friends with them but once I feel something deeper for them and I can't engage intellectually (i relate poiesis to this too) with them, I just tend to sort of relegate them to acquaintance.

/lit/: /lit/ consists of two categories of retard

1. The slightly more literate kind of 4chan user, who reads LOTR, Harry Potter and other fantasy books, which while technically literature -- if only in its lowest form -- is in practice only acceptable as fuel.

2. Posers (pic related) who use literature as a means to disguise their vacuousness, and pretend to like the sort of books that form the core of the average, teenage pseudointellectual's reading list. This consists either of 20th century American novels -- the more superficial, the better: Vonnegut, Salinger, Kerouac -- or 19th century Russian novels. They like to think they have superior tastes to group 1, but in actual fact have a pretty much equal level of appreciation of of literature as the rest of 4chan.

Is this accurate?
