If HBO/Amazon wants a multicultural fantasy setting why don't they adapt Will Wight? Elder Empire has the one redhead sea captain and every other character is brown.

Traveler's Gate (at least the first book) is terribly written except for its action though.

Elder Empire is competently written, although the constant flashback -> current era -> flashback cycle its written in is annoying and the plot sucks.

Cradle is good though.

I wish Calder had been the protagonist of his own story

That's not Rand, that's Calder!

After reading five Elder Empire books I don't feel like reading the sixth. It annoys me that Calder ended up being a supporting character in his own story.

Finishing Of Shadow And Sea and getting back to Calder in Dawn and Darkness was a relief

Shera is a really terrible protagonist. All she cares about is murder and sleep. I also dislike how both perspectives have so much of their character hidden in the backstory that "fills out" over time. In Calder's case it sort of works because there's personal motivation stuff, in Shera's case there's key points that feel missing and I don't really care.

Should I read Dawn and Darkness or Shadow and Sea after reading Sea and Shadow?
