On /lit/? Maybe. Is there anything here that isn't in Nietzsche? Also I'm sure he is misreading Darwin anyway. Fitness isn't always tied to raw strength it is just a function of how well something reproduces. So in all likelihood if I had to guess, his complaint would be that might should make right, but that society is obstructing this process from occurring? Society is inherently weak individuals banded together to protect themselves from threats, which may include other individuals (and societies). I suppose you could imagine a society of stronger equals dominating weaker equals (doesn't this already exist?), but these primitivist jeremiads tend to become absurd past a certain point.

Read part 3 of The Accursed Share. Sovereignty (what you would call being "noble") is incompatible with work. All work is the reduction of man to a thing, to an input, enslaved to a temporal end. Why would anyone be surprised at the increasing degeneration of work in socities which value efficiency, i.e. expediting the end? And if you want to pinpoint where the end replaced sovereignty on a spiritual level it is with the introduction of the life-negating, anti-dionysaic monotheistic counter-religions, and their subordination of all life to a promised eternal continuity after death.

These are effectively the same thing, from a Pragmatist, i.e. uninvested, perspective. If TOTR is fading that means what exists are decaying copies, therefore it no longer exists, therefore it is to be (re)created. These views lead to the same end for the invested party, to bring about TOTR. On the other hand, there is a certain naivete to thinking it can be repeated and not then decay again. Which I think some of these people grasp in their notions of cyclical time, but not all of them really get what underlies cyclical time, why a creator is also a destructor, and so forth, and become highly attached to this idea of TOTR and identifying which "tradition" kept the most of as an afterimage. This then devolves into petty slave moralities, with the respective dialecticians not even aware that they've implicitly renounced the very mastery of values-creation that made the tradition-shades they are gasping at even possible.

When Buddhists use these sorts of atman-esque constructs they are always within the context of Madhyamaka, in other words even if you are claiming a dharmakaya or some cosmic body of Vairochana Buddha as the ultimate ground for reality, dharmadhatu, and so forth, this is equated to the teachings on emptiness, sunyata. The non-Buddhists do not equate henosis or pantheism or other related ideas to emptiness. It is less that Vajrayana or Shingon or whatever are teaching atman and more that they are teaching emptiness to people conditioned to believe in henosis or pantheism.
