Can we have a quality post only thread? Keep your opening posts to a minimum of fifty words, and your response posts at least twenty. To start talk about a book you read and enjoyed and explain why you liked it and others should read it.

I'll start.

Bellarion the Fortunate. It's by Raphael Sabatini. It follows Sabatini's usual formula of a romantic interest frustrated by a villain who turns the love interest against the protagonist who in turn proves himself and makes her realize he's the love of her life. It's a very satisfying formula that doesn't get old, here it's used in Renaissance Italy in a Machiavellian story of intrigue, assassination and condottiere. Sabatini was a big fan of Machiavelli and especially Caesare Borgia (he wrote two books on the latter), so he applies he research to craft a nice romance for make readers that will keep you reading to the end
