That's the stupidest thing I've read on /lit/ in a while. Books are our most effective method of communication. Modern mediums do not reach the same depth as traditional word. People did not write books because they were just bored all day. Absolute midwit. Attempt to see humanity from a greater timescale and not just your feeble little modern perspective.

/lit/ used to be a good place to discuss books and authors I enjoy. In the last few years the quality of posts has been significantly lowered; I suspect by newfags that found their way here after our 2014 "Top 100" chart circulated on certain undesirable sites. Nevertheless I still pop in for about twenty minutes at a time just to laugh at some of the retardation and occasionally give my input on serious topics.

I've read all 4 books. It's about a man who in his youth loses his best friend, but continues to meet him re-incarnated four times, each book is one re-incarnation.
It's the kind of books where the story is used to convey an aesthetic quality, and that quality is actually the meaning of the whole thing. With the exception of "Runaway Horses", where it's a bit too patriotic/edgy/sudoku for my taste, the books are unusually beautiful, especially the last one "Decay of the Angel".
