By using technology in a Christian way.

Honestly, read Pope Francis' encyclical "Laudato Si". He sounds a lot like Kaczynski at certain points of it, and his main point is that the general atheism that accompanied the Enlightenment has generated all the ruin of industrial society. We can use technology in ways that do not lead to ruin, but to do this we must remember that we are not the masters of this world. Man is not the king; rather, Man is the steward, and it is God, Christ, who is the King of the Earth. The Modern world invites a tyrannical disposition from Men; we think Nature is ours to beat and abuse and molest as we choose, with no care to the consequences.

Just read "Laudato Si." It's very brilliant.

I do, as a Christian, believe that in the end of things all will be well. Not in the near term, but in the end.

It's also worth observing that industrial development and the resulting damage it's wrought on the Earth are, to a large extent, a consequence of a materialistic, mechanistic view of the natural world. Everyone in this thread should read Pope Francis' "Laudato Si," which goes into this pretty well; Benedict XVI spoke on the subject also. When we stopped seeing the natural world as a created place given to us and started seeing it as a collection of resources to be exploited, we began the process that got us to where we are today.

Everyone knows that both capitalism and communism are sinful, because they are both fundamentally materialist. No proper Christian can call himself either a capitalist or a communist.

Yeah, but at the same time, the Church does take plenty of the Bible literally even today. I'm pretty sure they still assert that the Exodus story happened, for example.
