I'm reading "I Wear The Black Hat" by Chuck Klosterman and early on in it he states that there's an "ever-encroaching consensus" that The Prince is likely a satirical work. I posited this theory in a political science class almost two years ago (to the effect that it was to undermine the de Medicis or something, I've forgotten and was probably wrong) and, while the prof thought it was an interesting proposition, he didn't give it much credence.

Does anyone else on /lit/ believe The Prince was more sarcastic than we traditionally take it for?

I'm sort of learning Latin and Greek concurrently and for some reason I'm finding Greek easier than Latin.

But I'm also trying to brush up on my Spanish and French (may be making a few jaunts to the Continent while I'm in the UK next semester) over the summer. I think I may have too much on my plate.

Currently have two more years at Temple University. I'm studying journalism but I've recently discovered I don't give a shit about the news -or rather, I have somewhat reactionary views on the role of social media in the news. Becoming more and more interested in Classics, but I feel like it's too late to jump ship. Oh well.

No student loans or anything, at least I'm not paying anything ludicrous for this. There's always grad school for that.

You sound like a bad person but I agree with your last point (some what), feminism is almost entirely concerned with its force in the First World, while almost entirely ignoring the subjugation of women in the Third.

>somewhere you are holding a cantaloupe"

I actually liked that line. I mean, why a cantaloupe?

What job do you have /lit/?

Does your job inhibit your hopes of becoming a writer, if that's what you want to become?
