This is exactly what I'm struggling with as well. I simply can't live like that, it just makes me very unhappy. I know people here will just call me weak or whatever but that kind of skewed sense of morality sickens me and is why I turned to religion in the first place..

Science is a useful methodical tool but does not and cannot lay bare the truth of reality alone, natural philosophy is only a facet (Albeit an important one) of philosophy as a whole. A concept such as “species” is necessary in biology to categorise and evaluate biodiversity, but in truth the concept is arbitrary and does not reflect the complexity of evolution and antecedently the beauty of God

What explains the rise of new age nature mysticism, pantheism, and also to an extent neopaganism? I find it puzzling to consider nature a personified, singular, and eminent being. Nature is nothing more than the collective of individual beings that consume each other to continue existence. There is nothing mystical about it. Attempting to find spirituality or metaphysical realities in the material/natural world is a dead end. It’s almost like focusing on the meaning of the type of paint used in a painting rather than the whole piece in itself
