out of all the boards I think the nicest and most open minded people here are on lit. sure there are assholes but I prefer interacting with anons here over any other board.

at the end of the day reading makes a difference. I prefer to be around people who read books.

I think when I get a job and my first pay (we get paid pretty well here in Australia, even for bullshit jobs) I'm gonna take my mum out for dinner to show thanks and appreciation for her taking care of me all these years.

Okay now I'm two weeks away from finishing my degree in mathematics and I'll be none the wiser for having done so. I decided to start reading now that I'm weaning off the stimulants so I get the good old head working for itself again. I'm starting with Beckett, Molloy. Is this a good start given my hopeless situation? What should I read next? Also anything similar to Bernhard? The type of book with a talentless, resigned character you relate to. The Man Without Qualities is too long and it isn't even finished.

I've got enough reading planned for the next 20 years. I'll start tomorrow.
