So I got myself a nontouch kindle 4, and got myself some customized sleep-screensavers and it was cool. Then I decided that I wanted to register it so I could set the damn clock and put my name in the top corner.

I don't really like the 'remove-ads' hacks for this thing, they either block it from connecting to amazon entirely and thus leave you stuck with a 'connect to wifi for special deals!' box, or you have to setup a DNS in your house to fool your kindle into connecting to your pc instead of amazon's servers, which I imagine would become undone the moment I brought it to someone else's house and connected to their internet.

That being said, does anyone know if I just drop the $30 to get rid of the ads, will I still be able to use my own screensavers?

I was shopping at a B&N that had 'God is not Great' on clearance. The clearance sticker was over the 'not' part of the title. Same thing when I was shopping in a Waldenbooks later that week.
